The trumpet: its correct technical execution and the interpretation of popular and academic universal repertoires, is available to everyone regardless of their age. We will build a logical sequence of studies that will help develop the technical aspects. And we will address repertoires according to the age and taste of the student. we will draw a path with short, medium and long term goals. we will build a technical routine and healthy habits to progress correctly. In addition, we will select musical pieces by mutual agreement to mature the technical development hand in hand with musical growth. I am a professional trumpeter, I have participated in symphony orchestras, wind bands, big band, and small chamber and jazz ensembles. I have extensive experience teaching children, youth and adults. For me it is very important to make music from the first lesson, because there must be a balance between technical practice and its application in small melodies or musical pieces. No matter the musical genre, we will always find a repertoire according to the level and interest of each student. If you already know how to play and you need to perfect a piece or prepare a recital or audition, you can count on my experience and accompaniment as well.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. < Learning Piano is not merely about playing the piano > Before starting to learn the piano, it’s essential to recognize that : '' What we are actually learning is "Music", but not only "Piano". '' The goal of learning any instrument is to acquire the language of music, enabling us to express ourselves and enjoy music with others. Playing the piano is for creating beautiful sounds, not really for developing finger speed or strength. That’s the function of gym. < Music is like cooking > When we cook, to make roast beef tender, of course, it’s nice to have a tender heart, but without knowing how to control the temperature, the roast beef won’t become tender merely by our tender heart. By only adding salt, the dish won’t be sweet. Similarly, simply playing or writing a C major triad chord won’t convey a sorrowful feeling. To create the feeling we want, no matter how much sentiment we have in our hearts, to convey it via music, it needs to be translated into the language which the piano can understand, which means, how we press and lift the keys and pedals. Similarly, when we compose, it needs to be transferred into chords, and notes we write. < Difference between an audience and a musician > There is a common belief that a musician can make music with sentiment or feeling. While it’s partially true, the most essential thing is knowing ‘’How’’ to create the sound that conveys the feeling we want, rather than merely knowing ‘’What’' feeling we want to convey. The understanding of the mechanism behind music is essential, as cooking, and that is the difference between an audience and a musician. As an audience, one can simply feel the music. Like a chief who knows how to create a specific flavor to convey, a musician knows how to create the sound which can convey the feeling we want. While knowing which feeling we want is great, it’s merely the first step. Your emotions are not too different from Chopin, Beethoven, Adele or Taylor Swift, otherwise, they can’t resonate with you. But they know how to create the sound that conveys the feeling they want to their audience. < Course Content > I consider my course to be a form of "Music Consultation" because it contains a wide range of subjects that are essential to a professional musician. My name is Roman and I have been a composer of electronic music for about ten years. A multi-instrumentalist, I began my musical adventure by playing the guitar and then the piano. After obtaining my Brevet d'Études Musicales, I trained in Computer-Assisted Music (MAO), composition, audio mixing and mastering techniques. I work on Ableton Live software. Today, as an artist-author, I regularly partner with other artists and contribute to a wide variety of live performance and music-for-image projects. For the 2024-2025 season, I am participating in several artistic residencies and stage performances. I currently make music in Paris, where I am a 2023/24 lauréat of the Cité internationale des arts and a Mortimer Hays Traveling Fellow from Brandeis University. I was the 2021-2022 recipient of a Fulbright-Harriet Hale Woolley Award at the United States Foundation in France, and received the 2022 Rosalind Swenson Fulbright Enrichment Award. I am also a Fellow of the Belgian-American Educational Foundation. My most recent musicological article, "Overtones, Sonic and Politic: Octatonicism, Minor Thirds, and Bells," was published in Volume 71 of the scholarly journal of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in April 2022. Although I studied classical composition in school, I write music in many genres including classical, rock, jazz, pop, and film scores. I played the guitar and the drums in several rock and folk bands in high school. My favorite band is the Beatles. Outside of music, I enjoy making watercolor paintings of trees.
